A beautiful castle within a gritty city

Osaka Castle is a popular spot for a good reason. This iconically blue monument creates a beautiful visual against the blue sky. Photo spots include the paths outside the moat or within the walls within the tiny japanese pond.

  • Taken Summer 2024
  • While this spot is very busy with people, the Japanese pond is less known so there may be just a small handful of people there at any given time, and can work as a pretty setting for a proposal. Ideally, have your proposal shoot here early morning to beat the crowds.
  • There may be other people doing photoshoots here as Osaka has fewer photography friendly locations.
  • The fence line around the moat is also another alternative that would be free from crowds, but beware of someone walking across the shot since this is a path.
  • Visit the castle for a museum exhibition or ride the boat in the moat.
