Sanzen-in & Otanashi Falls

Located in Ohara, These two locations are besides each other, where you can easily make a whole day out of your adventure out far north of kyoto. 

 

Photoshoot Details

  • We highly recommend driving to this location as getting there via public transport from Kyoto will take around 1.5hrs as opposed to 20-30mins on car. Park at the foot of the hill in private parking (Approx 500円)
  • Taken in Late Summer 2024
  • While there are still people here this is low compared to most beautiful Kyoto locations. We highly recommend going to Sanzen-in first thing in the morning to truly avoid the crowds
  • The hike to Otanashi Falls is short, but better to do in good shoes. There is rarely anyone around visiting this spot.
  • We spotted a few potential spots along the hike including the damn walls can make an interesting composition for a proposal.
