Chureito Pagoda
Chureito Pagoda is a popular photo spot for it’s iconic landscape. However we don’t recommend this location for a proposal or couples photography shoot due to the challenging compositions and crowds. If you do want to capture photos at this location, we recommend arriving very early at approx. 6am/7am to avoid the crowds as much as possible. If Mt. Fuji is not present this day, there is not much more to this location except for the shrine, which you’re much better off at a different shrine if that was the case.
As backdrops for additional photos, you can walk up higher above the main photo area, which you’ll see some trees and grass on a slope looking out to the big view. This spot is a little risky if you’re not wearing appropriate shoes and not very well balanced.
Photoshoot Details
- Must arrive extra early, these photos were taken around afternoon, 2-3pm where there were crowds
- We were able to achieve some of the ideal pictures by waiting for a break in the crowds, which came at a very rare opportunity. A shoot here during peak times would possibly take an extra hour or so to take this in account.
